Our friend Luca Invernizzi from Lynx Heli Innvations send us couple of upgrades for a Trex 550E to Review,
After installing these upgrades, we can say that the installation of the Upgrades is very straight forward, alloy seems to be strong, all the drilling is precise and easy to use, and the overall appearance is very neat.
Using the Adjustable Motor mount, Main Shaft bearing blocks with the X Carbon, the Alloy Battery plate and the V2 Frame Plate had makes the Trex 550E very Rigid for the best.
Let go over one by one on the upgrades:
The Great thing about this Motor mount that it is adjustable to find the perfect mash and you do not need to do any special modification on the original frames
The frame plates strength the entire frames and makes the Trex body very rigid, this is suitable only for V2 of the Trex 550E
The bearing block are made very high quality and adding the X carbon Back plate, really strength the entire bearing blocks within the frames
The battery Support allows you to add additional hole in each side to mount it on the frame for strength, not mandatory, but Lynx have provided a drill plate to assist with drilling that hole in each frame side.
Although we didn’t use it as our Trex is FBL and its FBL unit located on the lower back frame, the Gyro mount is positioned perfectly on the top from frame and has enough clearance while assembly the Canopy
Special style thumbs screw assures the ultimate grip also Perfect lock and unlock operation during situations when hands are covered with dirt and oil.
The vetical fin is thinker than original one and longer ~1cm , which really protect our tail while landing “hard”
Here are couple of pictures Before and After:
Special thanks to Sharon Etkin who “contribute” his Trex 550E for the review, we hope he enjoys these upgrades.
